Transcription

You don’t have to know anything about music theory in order to write a beautiful song! As long as you can sing or play your music, I can make it look great on paper. Just send me a link or audio file of any song, and I will put it into sheet music notation. This provides a wonderful way to share and rehearse your original music with bandmates, fans, employers, friends, and accompanists. I can also transcribe your friend’s original music, or a song that is meaningful to them, so you can give it as a special gift!

My most common transcription work is to notate a melody with lyrics and chord symbols. If your recording doesn’t include chords, I can write chords that will fit well with your melody. I can notate many different instruments including piano and choral music. Here is an example of a song I transcribed for an artist named Jennifer Bloom. (She is a wonderful poet and musician! Check out her web site!)

“Vince was an absolute pleasure to work with! He was professional, timely, and most importantly, he created sheet music for my songs that maintained the integrity of the original compositions while giving musicians the chance to add their unique style to the piece.”

—Jennifer Bloom, Musician & Client

If you are interested in having a song transcribed, please send me a message with the audio file (or link) you would like transcribed and which instruments, chords, or voices you would like notated. Feel free to provide a phone number so I can give you a call and address any questions or preferences you may have. I will listen to your song and provide a quote based on the length and complexity of the project.
